January 16
This week I started my SECOND in my life knitted christening dress. Michele and Ginny are both expecting very soon-- and I am quite excited at how the first inches are turning out. Hopefully next week I will be able to show you a picture of the project in progress.
For now I dug out a picture of my FIRST dress. I am pretty amazed that I pulled it off. The baby is Alex-- and for those of you with a good memory, you will recall that I had 5 kids in 1986, ages 9, 6, 2, 2, and almost 1. It is quite an intricate piece of work done on size 1 and 2 needles.
My current dress will be in a larger stitch-- size 6 needles-- but still quite fine in guage. Most of my sweaters are done on 8s or 10s.
Here is a second closeup photo of the pretty stitching.

It is supposed to be stormy for the next few days, so I plan to sew the seams on the BOW WOW sweater. I am afraid the feather and lace blanket and the cables and ladders scarf will have to wait a little--- but it is always good to have a backup when you start a big project-- in case you briefly get tired of it.
Have a good week. Stay warm. xox Noanie

This is so pretty. I just discovered it at Ravelry. However, I am not familiar with the pattern book. I tried looking on ebay but the one shown only had adult clothing. Again, this is extremely beautiful ( you did wonderful work) and I wish you much success on the new one you are making.
