Yes, I have signed up for an olympic event. I will be knitting for Team FGF. To win a medal, I need to finish 4 pair of fingerless gloves from 5 AM on August 8th, until the flame is extinguished on the 25th. This would be easy if I didn't have to work, eat, sleep, and do laundry !
The 4 pair are very specific-- titled Evangeline, Yummy Mummy, Jasmine, and A Little Twist. All are in the "moderate" skill level. I plan to do all 4 with yarn from the closet-- and needles on hand-- so time rather than cost will be the big factor. We are allowed to "swatch" before the event... so I had best choose my yarns and make sure I have good tension. I understand this is akin to practicing or warmup. I am sure many pictures will follow. Please root for RAVELRY and Team FGF (and Noanie) while watching Team USA !! I am counting on your support. XOXO
