Week of the Groundhog

Tonite I go back to work after my 6 nites off. This will be my last 8 nite stretch before switching to a 4 on-3 off rotation and also having surgery on my shoulder. I have been practicing doing things with just my left hand. I can brush my teeth, tho it is messy, and use a fork or drink from a glass. However, I am concerned about getting myself dressed. I can't seem to do a one-handed zipper, and can only do buttons and snaps with great difficulty. I may be reduced to watching DVDs, reading, and hopefully KNITTING. If I do it all day in my jamas, the dogs won't care. Maybe Andre will come over to help me.

As for this week, I finally put away all the Christmas stuff and sorted through the boxes in my bedroom. I paid the bills and balanced my acct (more or less anyway.) I also made some knitting progress-- which is what this blog is here for. I ripped out the bodice of the Lettuce Sweater I had started for Nicole and began again with one size larger pattern, and one size larger needles. I am now satisfied that the sweater will both look nice, and fit her, and the bodice is again complete. (See latte colored bodice in photo)

I also began another garter ridge sweater for Edie's little sister in a Martha's Vineyard Yarn called "Blueberry Pie." It is a varigated blue-purple mix and looks good so far. Then I ripped out and redid the second mitt of a pair of multicolor fingerless gloves I made before Christmas. Somehow the two did not match-- and I tossed them aside in frustration. Check out how they look now.

Hope you will all have a good week. Stay warm and wear some warm knitwear.
Love to all. Noanie
