Bamboozle

1-28-09
While I was in Chicago, I had a chance to visit a great little yarn shop called "Arcadia." They had lots of specialty yarns that I'd read about but never seen. One was Crystal Palace's Bamboozle. The yarn is mostly bamboo with a little cotton and a wee bit of spandex. Though I have Nicole's sweater and two pair of mitts going, I was dying to try out this new yarn. It has a thick "lofty" feel, and worked up with very pretty color variations.

Being a synthetic, it does not have the natural barbs of animal yarn to hold it together. This makes it a little "splitty." IE-- the yarn sort of untwists and ravels. It did make a very cute little hat ... and though I was going to make mitts to match, there is enough for a little sweater.

I am now at the beginning of my 6 days off schedule--- so we will see what gets accomplished..
I am having shoulder surgery in February, so I am going to lay in a supply of yarn and patterns, books, slippers, and DVDs. I am practicing doing things with my left arm. This afternoon I tried brushing my teeth as a lefty. It worked but I had toothpaste all over. Guess I will have to practice.
Hope you are all warm and well. XOXOXOX Noanie/Mom/Grandma
