There has been lots of coverage recently about trying to recycle plastic, paper, and cans to avoid polluting the environment and using up valuable resources. I am not a very heavy consumer of any of these, so it seems to take forever to get a load worthy of a special trip to the recycling depots. Here is my personal effort at going green-- and it even fits in on a KNITTING blog.
This is a string bag. It is used for groceries and other small items. I used "I Love This Cotton" by Hobby Lobby. The name really fits. It is a beautiful soft cotton that is both sturdy and easy to knit. Most cotton yarns get hard to slide off the needles and result in sore hands. At less than $2 per ball, it is also a big time bargain. The colors are extensive and bright and it is entirely washable. I do love this cotton and plan to use it again as I do my small part to save the planet.
It has been raining steadily all day today-- perfect for sleeping. Have a great day in blogland. Love, Noanie
