Happy Birthday to Ruth! She is my much younger, prettier sister. I was so very excited when she was born. The fair was in town. (We went with the Brays) When we came home, it began to rain hard and Chestnut street flooded like a river. Ruthie was a happy, round faced baby-- and she hated dresses. Wishing you much happiness little sis.

My only knit project for this week was a small sweater made of "sock yarn" from CE Deigns. It is a simple little v-neck with garter ridges. The colors are a bit darker than I expected, but it is still cute.

There is a crew here replacing my shingles this week. They are VERY noisy and the dogs are scared. Sleeping in the daytime will be severely compromised even with earplugs. Grumble, grumble. The workers should also begin the back yard soon -- so hopefully everything will get done quickly.

On a sad note, we want to acknowledge the death of Michael Jackson. I remember having a 45 mm record of "I'll Be There" when I was a young teen, and the LP "We Are the World." Michael had a wispy, high pitched voice and huge energy as he danced through tons of music. He was an immense talent who supported many wonderful charities. He was also accused of some bad behavior. Since he was acquitted, I will accept the jury's opinion and quit with that. May you Moonwalk in heaven Michael.
