The blue ruffle scarf was a pattern I've been dying to try. It is knit horizontally beginning with 250 stitches. When you get to the ruffle, you double the stitches twice so the final row (on each side) is 1000 stitches. At that number, a row took me more than an hour!
The lacey ecru swatch is the beginning of a pretty shawl from a new book I received for Christmas from Marty,Sally, and Lucas. It is more difficult than I expected-- esp keeping the "holes" all nice and even. It is knit in 5 wedges and sewn together to make a perfect half circle "pi" This may be an ongoing project over the next few months (or years!)
Thanks for stopping in to see the blog. Stay warm. Noanie
