This is really cool. This new yarn made by Caron is 100% post consumer recycled plastic bottles. It was $3.25 for a full size skein. That makes it a little more than Red Heart and other inexpensive yarns, but very reasonable for most projects. It is quite soft and knits up with a clear stitch definition and a "cottony" feel. The two skeins I bought are probably headed for a "Helena" baby sweater. I'll let you know how it is to work with. :-)
Here is one more pic to show you the progress of the lettuce sweater. So far the biggest problem has been winding the hanks of yarn into balls. My sore shoulder makes such motion difficult-- and I seem to go through the balls pretty fast. There is a little silk in this yarn and it works up very smoothly and quickly.
This weekend, I am headed for Chicago and the baptism of my grandson, Lucas. I haven't seen him (in person) since New Years weekend. Two months for a new baby can be lots of change. I am very excited and will hopefully be able to post a report next week.
Hope you are all high and dry and not suffering from Spring flooding. Have a good Equinox and enjoy the additional sunlight. XOX Noanie
