Today I intended to show you the pretty pink daisies I put in the planters out front. I know it is still very early in the season, but I was so very tired of winter, I will risk having to replant. However, every day my new pix of Lucas is cuter than the last, so again I am posting this very gorgeous, smiley kid, this time with his father who is my eldest son. You are permitted to laugh or clap.
In the last two days, I finished my first book by Jody Picoult, "My Sister's Keeper."
It was absolutely mind boggling, with many surprises in the final chapters. I always enjoy books with real life moral dilemmas. This book actually reeled me in so tightly with the lives of this family that I felt like it was happening to me. I believe it is coming out as a movie soon. It is worth the bucks to see or read.
I have started my 2nd Jody Picoult book already. "The Tenth Circle" referring to Dante's version of hell.
While speaking of good stories, I must also give mention to the movie "The Soloist" which I saw last night. It is about a schizophrenic savant who dropped out of Julliard and wound up a homeless man, playing violin on the streets of Los Angeles. There were some very insightful scenes depicting the things that go on in a schizophrenic mind: voices, colors, odd sounds. The homeless also get an interesting portrayal as the listener gets drawn into their world. I was surprised at the end to learn it was a true story, written by one of the principal characters. Wow. It is worth your $8.50. I promise.
Today I must remember to say Happy Birthday to my nephew Patrick. I doubt he reads the blog, but maybe someone who does will tell him I remembered.
Have a great week. XOOXO Noanie
