"Grandma, I took a picture of my eyes for you!"
I'd told Andre when I wiped the ketchup off his mouth that I really loved his eyes. I was surprised he thought of taking a picture for me, and more surprised that he got such a good eye shot. I am so amazed by the minds of children.
Happiness is: Holding a small soft hand while crossing the street.
Happiness is: Kissing a sleeping child.
Happiness is: The trusting smile when he opens one eye and realizes it is you.
Happiness is: Learning a new word, like "tangled," then using it over and over and over.
Happiness is: talking about a "smush-malowman" who blew up and slimed the city with smush-malow. (Think Ghost Busters)
Happiness is: Reading a Thomas the Train book, then hearing your listener quietly recite the story to himself later.
Happiness is: Being Grandma to such a child
Lets finish out July with a grateful smile for the children in our lives.
